The PowerBlocks are mostly metal and the inner handle is the only part of the dumbbell that is made up of strong plastic. The PowerBlocks are great because they stay organized and contained without a stand. The weights not in use stay in an unmovable compacted stack.

One improvement that can be made would be re-designing the selector pin to where it would be impossible to insert the pin crooked across two different weights.
